joshua's space themed room.
Welcome to Joshua's room. Joshua's room is... well, it's full of personality. Just like the little boy who is bursting with character and charm. His room is perfectly suited for his outgoing creative soul and he would be very proud to tell you that he picked out most items all by himself. His bedding, the pillows, the artwork and even the lamps. The color of the room was a bit of a battle, but a battle that mom came out victorious on. I was not ready to give in to bright red walls, especially when I really want to just paint my whole house white! So, we compromised on a soft blue.
When we moved into our new home a year ago (yes, it's already been a year) Josh was insistent on a space themed room. I'm not really one for "themes" so I did the best I could with the planet mobile, space artwork and blue walls and curtains. Seemed spacey enough to me, but not for Josh. It wasn't until recently, when Stuck on You, cool kid labels and personalized gifts, reached out to me about sending something special for Josh. As soon as I saw the "Zzzap" Space wall stickers I knew they were meant for Josh. All year I listened to him complain, in his sweetest little voice, that his room wasn't "spacey" enough. We both agree his room is complete (minus those hardwood floors) and very fitting for his style.
To make up for the bright red that Josh wanted on his walls, we painted bookshelves and sought out accessories in different shades of red.

I love love love what you did with the kiddo's rooms! I'm with you on the no-theme approach but think you did a fantastic job finding the balance between simple and spacey;)
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much Casey! It's all about the balance, haha :)
