I have a little gift that someone once gave me. Someone who has always remained in my heart. When I was a child, a curious young girl with short boyish hair, my grandfather gave me a simple necklace he made. Pieces of silver blended together with two coral fetish bird beads. Two birds to spread their wings and carry me far in life, or so I was told. Over the years this necklace has always remained close by my side. As a girl I wore it daily and as the years passed it found a home in my nightstand. But every once in awhile I would hold it in my hands and remember the times I spent with my grandfather. Remember how close we were even though we only had seven short years together. I know today he would be proud that I passed along this little gift. I passed it along to a unique little girl who holds a special place in my heart. May these wings carry her as far in life as the carried me and may she continue to walk to greatness.

  6. That's lovely. I only have one piece of jewellery that has stayed with me since I was a child. I can't wait to give it to my daughter when she get's older.

This birdy necklace is absolutely gorgeous and looks SO sweet on your daughter. It must be lovely seeing her wear it :-)
